  1. We put up the tree on Thanksgiving. It’s something we started a few years back when my daughter was bored and I was in the kitchen cooking. Now it’s a tradition.

  2. We put our inside lights and decorations up the day after Thanksgiving. The outside lights go up on a nice day sometime at the end of November or early December.

  3. It happens gradually over the latter half of November, though the Christmas tree and wreaths don’t go up until Thanksgiving weekend. Lights go up in early November (otherwise, it’s usually too cold to get them up around Thanksgiving here), but don’t get turned on until after Thanksgiving.

  4. We don’t put up x-mas they (lights) stay up year round (I know lazy)
back home (iowa) it would be 1st week of Dec. and minimal at that inside only

  5. I try to get the majority of my decorations up by the first week in December. Then I can enjoy them all month long. 🙂

  6. Start after Thanksgiving. Some people in our building have had lights on their balconies since before Halloween and Also saw neighborhood stuff go up in Oct. That’s a bit too early. After Thanksgiving is the date rule people should stick to(but obviously not all do) I would like to keep the balcony twinkling lights up all year! But DH says no way.

  7. I wait until after Thanksgiving to put up my Christmas decorations. The one exception that I’ll make to this, is if we have snow – then the outdoor fall decor just doesn’t look right. I don’t like to be without a wreath on my door.

  8. I try to put some up after Thanksgiving. I live alone so sometimes it’s just whenever I can get around to it, lol I have no rush and no timetable 🙂

  9. Definitely not on the actual Thanksgiving day. It used to be when the calendar changed to December, but once I started getting busy it went to the day after Thanksgiving, but this year the weekend instead of that Friday.

  10. Before I wouldn’t put it up until December but over the years my collection of decorations has gotten larger and I’ve gotten slower so I try to do it the weekend after Thanksgiving now.

  11. We typically decorate the weekend after Thanksgiving; but this year we will be traveling. So, we put them up this weekend.

  12. Not putting much out this year as we will be traveling. I usually take a few decorations for our hotel room when we travel. My home decor will center around Christmas Cards. Definitely start my decorating after Christmas.

  13. I usually put mine up Thanksgiving night, but we went ahead and put them up tonight! We have a lot of put up this year!

  14. We put everything up the weekend after Thanksgiving! This year my daughter is going with her dad that weekend so our tree will go up the weekend after.
